A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church Chaptico, MD with Fr. Jerry Gamrot officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery Helen, MD.
Visitation:
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 5:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home chapel with prayers recited at 7:00 PM.
Arthur "Louis" Knott, Jr., passed away on March 21, 2013 peacefully at his home in Clements surrounded by his loved ones.
Born May 15, 1948 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur Louis Knott, Sr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Quade Knott. Louis was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lorraine Guy Knott whom passed away on April 18, 2002. He is also proceded in death by his siblings: Gene Carroll Knott, Charles Alan Knott and Lora Ann Knott, and one grandchild Joseph Louis Currie. Louis is survived by his children: Cheryl Jean Knott (Terry Russell) of Morganza, Steven Louis Knott (Debbie) of Tall Timbers and Nicole Lynn Currie (Richie) of Lexington Park. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Danielle Elizabeth Wise, Steven Gregory Wise, Louis Gene Wise, Seth Richard Currie and Kahlan Dorothy Currie, and his life partner Betty Unkle.
A life long resident of St. Mary's County, Louis was a graduate of Chopticon High School Class of 1966. Louis made his career of what he loved, working on automobiles. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, spending time with his grandchildren and he always loved a good oyster scald.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 5:00PM ~ 8:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home chapel with prayers recited at 7:00PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 11:30 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morganza, MD with Father Keith Woods Officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation:
Viewing and Visitation will be held Friday, September 1, 2006 from 5 PM till 8 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home.
Arthur Louis Knott, Sr., 87, of Clements, MD died August 30, 2006, in Clements, MD. Born March 4, 1919 in Hurry, MD he was the son of the late John Louis Knott and Catherine Maria' Quade. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy Elizabeth Quade Knott whom he married December 26, 1945 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He is survived by his son Arthur Louis Knott, Jr. of Clements, MD and his sister Mabel Maria' Mattingly. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cheryl Jean Knott and Nichole Lynn Knott both of Clements, MD, Steven Louis Knott of Colton's Point, MD, and Charles Alan Knott of Avenue, MD. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Danielle Elizabeth Knott Steven Gregory Knott, and Louis Gene Knott all of Clements, MD ,Curtice Matthew Knott and Dalanyee Jaiden Knott both of Avenue, MD. He was preceded in death by his children Gene Carroll Knott, Charles Alan Knott, and Lora Ann Knott. He is also preceded in death by his siblings Mary Elsie Lacey, Joseph Ambrose Knott, Clarence Guy Knott, Agnes Maude Howard, and Walter Chester Knott and his great-grandchild Joseph Louis Currie-Knott. He attended River Springs School, Avenue, MD. For sixty years he worked as a Mechanic for Guy Brothers Implements and he enjoyed gardening. The family will receive friends Friday, September 1, 2006, from 5:00- 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with prayers being said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 11:30 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Louis Knott, Steven Knott, Chucky Knott, Irvin Latham, Perry Guy and Frankie Vallandingham.
