Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Holy Face Catholic Church, Great Mills, MD with Father Joseph Calis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. William “Billy” Edward Winters, Jr., 66, of Williamsburg, VA formerly of Leonardtown, MD, passed away on May 20, 2013. Born on January 26, 1947 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Dorothy M. Knott Winters, and William Edward Winters, Sr. William is survived by his loving wife Claudia Marie Winters, whom he married on August 4, 1968 in Port Chester, NY, children; William Winters, III (Diana) of California, MD, John Winters, and Courtney Winters both of Leonardtown, MD, and Meredith Snyder (Greg) of Richmond, VA, siblings; Joyce Keller of St. John, FL, and James Winters of Leonardtown, MD, 5 grandchildren; London Synder, Liam Winters, Alessandra Winters, Gianna Winters, and Lanie Smith. Billy was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County. He graduated from St. Michael’s High school in 1965, and was the co-owner of Winters Sheet Metal in Leonardtown, MD for 47 years. Billy retired January 1, 2013. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Holy Face Catholic Church, Great Mills, MD with Father Joseph Calis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Greg Snyder, Ken Ward, Doug Thron, Douglas Thron, Daniel Thron, and Felix Renaldo.
