A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 10:00AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD with Deacon Bill Nickerson officiating. Interment will follow in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Leonardtown, MD.
Visitation:
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A., Leonardtown, MD.
J. Irving Russell, Sr., 93, of Port Charlotte, FL, and former resident of Punta Gorda, FL., passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte. He was born on May 1, 1920 in Leonardtown, MD., to John and Lilly Russell, and moved to Florida from Maryland in 1985.
Irving was a retired gas company manager, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Punta Gorda, FL. He was predeceased by his wife, Claire M. Russell. He is survived by his daughter Cheryl R. Scheid (Rick) of Cordova, TN; 3 sons; Joseph (Russ) Russell, Jr. (Marylee) of Leonardtown, MD., Gregory Russell of Clements, MD., and Jeffrey Russell (Jean) of Washington, DC., and 9 grandchildren. Mr. Russell is preceded in death by his sister Agnes Cecilia Russell, and brother John Lewis Russell, II. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 9:00AM -10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, a Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM with Deacon Bill Nickerson Officiating. Interment will follow in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Leonardtown, MD.
