A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 10:00AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Bill Nickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A., Leonardtown, MD.
James “Jimbo” Latham Mattingly, Jr., 63 of Chaptico, MD died July24, 2013 at his residence. Born March 22, 1950 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Hazel Toute Mattingly and James Latham Mattingly, Sr. Jimbo is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Hayden Mattingly of Chaptico, MD, children; Tonya Knott, Jimmy Mattingly of FL, Michael Mattingly of Chaptico, MD, Stacy Walling and Katrina Whittington both of Lexington Park, MD, and Jami Ransom of Levant , ME, siblings; Gloria Bolt of Willis, VA, George Mattingly of Lexington Park, MD, Brenda of Indian Head, MD, Willie Mattingly of Hollywood, MD, Joseph Mattingly of Colonial Beach, VA, Priscilla Mattingly, Debra Kane of Leonardtown, MD, Susan Mattingly of Hollywood, MD, Mary Mattingly of PA, Rosie Mattingly, Cindy Mattingly of Mechanicsville, MD, Alice Mattingly of Waldorf, MD, Judith Whorl of Mechanicsville, MD, Carla of Great Mills, MD, Michelle Messineo of Leonardtown, MD and Linda of New York., he is also survived by 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents Jimbo was preceded in death by his siblings; Barbara Mattingly, and John Mattingly. Jimbo was a truck driver for AB & H Excavating, retiring on July 1, 2012.
Jimbo was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s county, he loved his garden, and fishing with his best fishing buddy Ralph Johnson.

If there’s a dump truck up there he will be the first in line to drive it, and he will be giving this great story of how on earth he was the greatest dump truck driver there ever was. If there is fishing Jimmy will be setting up fishing trips, he will be a natural angel in heaven. The only thing that he will truly miss is his sweet loving wife, PAT. Jimbo may you play your music and sing to our Lord in Heaven. Pat you truly gave him the best years of his life and made him so happy. He was a happy man.
