Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 10:00AM in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Leonardtown Campus with Reverend John Wunderlich officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 7:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. Henry Lee Hoffman, 61, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 14, 2013 in Bushwood, MD. Born June 25, 1952 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Henry Herman Hoffman and Ruby Virginia Ransom Hoffman. Henry is survived by his loving daughters; Terra Colliflower of Bushwood, MD and Kelly Johnson of Mechanicsville, MD, grandchildren; Laci Johnson, Cody Colliflower, Brooke Colliflower, and Mason Johnson, siblings; Earl Hoffman of Prince Fredrick, MD , Trudy Puff of Roanoke, VA, Deloris Layfield of Easton, MD, and Pat Bean of Salisbury, MD. Henry graduated from LaPlata High school; he was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Chaney Enterprises for 26 years retiring in 2012. Henry loved his lawn mower, cutting grass, Tractor Pulls, restoring tractors, hunting, watching wrestling, fishing, yard sales, his grandchildren, and most of all his girls. The family would like to give special thanks to the Cancer Infusion Care Center, Leonardtown, MD, American Radiology of St. Mary’s, Charlotte Hall, MD, Hospice of St. Mary’s, and the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 5:00 PM -8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM, in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 10:00 AM in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Leonardtown Campus, Leonardtown, MD. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Vernie Long, Brandon Long, Colin Long, Frankie Long, George Coppage, and Tinky Brown, Honorary pallbearers will be: Laci Johnson, Cody Colliflower, Brooke Colliflower, Mason Johnson, and Co-Workers at Chaney Enterprises. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s P.O. Box 625 Leonardtown, MD 20650, and/or Cancer Care and Infusion Center 25500 Point Lookout Road Leonardtown, MD 20650

Like normal when he got his license time led us in different directions. He was a character then and when our paths crossed later, I saw that he hadn’t changed and we shared laughter and memories of the farm. His smile will always appear when I think of him. My heart and prayers goes out to the family.”
