The title of the poem is “To Those I Love and Those Who Saved Me”. When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears…Be happy that we had so many years. I gave to you my love. You can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown; but now, it is time I travel on alone. So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It is only for awhile that we must part. So bless the memories within your heart. I won’t be far away. For life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can’t see me or touch me I’ll be near…And if you listen with your heart you’ll hear All of my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone I’ll greet you with a smile and say “Welcome Home”.”

Whether bandaging up my old decrepit Pontiac, or needing a partner for pitch, whether a few beers were in order to ease our stress, or if one of us needed an ear to bend, I could count on you. You raised two boys into fine men, and I can’t think of a better compliment for any man than that. I know they counted on you to get them there. Throughout my life, I never had a doubt that if I needed you, you’d be there, smiling and somehow seeing that silver lining. I’ll miss you, and won’t forget you. No matter where or how the rest of my life may be spent, you will always be there in my heart and on my mind. Whenever I eat fried chicken in the future I will tell the cook that it’s good but in my mind, I’ll be saying, “Not as good as Warren’s”. I will miss so much our marathon phone calls, you sharing your “garden” tomatoes with me, swapping new recipes, and those wonderful “spur-of-the-moment pitch games. I know you’ve passed along all your “Card-ology” tips to Warren and Chris and soon, Ciara, “Bubs”, and Luna will be masters of the game like Granddad. Please ask God to watch over those of us left behind and help us to be strong. You were what so many of us mere mortals strive so hard to be: extremely hard-working, honest, kind-hearted, and loving; a great husband and father; a doting grandfather; a caring and sensitive brother; a loyal friend; a faithful Catholic; a rabid Redskins fan; and a good example of how a life should be lived. Your terrific sense of humor got us all through so many bad times and enlivened so many good times (Now who are we going to have to remind George Higgs that he’s the Christmas Pig????). Just know that I love you so much and will miss you every day of the rest of my life…..because remember, after all, “I am the oldest.” “

Want to share this quote, when I saw it is all Warren, Life may not always be perfect but it’s what you make of it. So make it count. Make it memorable and never let anyone steal your happiness. God bless your family, R.I.P Warren “

I will be thinking of you tomorrow. If I can do anything please let me know Becky”

  121. “Karen & Family, As I read the many condolences, it’s so obvious we are all in pain with you. Warren was loved by all. We can’t imagine traveling Pin Cushion Road without turning our heads toward your home, so full of happiness, memories and of course, the good food! Friends were always welcome. To say we’ll miss him, will be there for you seems futile; of course, we will. If he could speak he’s ask us to care for you and we will. Love you so very much.”

Warren was a special person and he held such a special place in all of your lives…he will continue to hold that place but he’ll now be your special angel watching over all of you. Warren is now a Redskin angel too – we’ll think of him every game they play! Our deepest sympathy to all of you – we will be holding you close in our hearts in the weeks to come! God bless you all!”

It has been a few years since chatting with him on his Frito Lay Route and even more years since the school yards days of Mother Catherine Spalding. But one of my fondest memories is of a particular Mass Warren and I served together at St. Joseph’s Church. Whenever that Sunday crosses my mind, I have a smile on my face Thanks To Warren. My deepest condolences to the Family.”

My thoughts and prayers are with you! This is a poem that I really appreciated during my times of grief. A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says She is gone. Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large now as when I last saw her. Her diminished size and total loss from my sight is in me, not in her. And just at that moment, when someone at my side says she is gone, there are others who are watching her coming over their horizon and other voices take up a glad shout – There she comes!”

Warren was family; he was my cousin, my friend and someone that I thought would be here long after I was gone but God had a different plan. We grew up together and shared so much over the years. We did not see each other often but when we did, it was always a great time and special memories were made. Warren was loved by us all and we will continue to love him and pray for him. Take care of each other and know that there are many of us who will help you in any way at any time you need. Warren now looks down on you and he will always be there watching and protecting you.
