Interment will be private. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A., Leonardtown, MD. Joseph Raymond “Ray” Ching, 81, of Morganza, MD formerly of Leonardtown, MD passed away on December 2, 2013 in Lexington Park, MD. Born on June 12, 1932 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late Mary G. Wathen Ching and Grover Ching. Ray was the loving husband of Ruth Marie Wehrmann Ching whom he married in St. Aloysius Catholic Church and who preceded him in death on December 26, 1972. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mildred Lacey, Mary B. fuller, Aloysius Ching, and Johnny Ching. Ray graduated from Margret Brent High School and was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, MD. He was a Maintenance Mechanic for Baltimore Gas and Electric and retired after 30 years. Ray was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD with Father Keith Woods officiating. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.
