He always came to our counters and held us in conversation(if we weren’t waiting on a customer) until it was time to close up and go home. God love you.”

  9. Louise & Samantha Pritchard says:

“Aunt Weezie, we are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Junior was a great man and will forever be in our hearts! We pray that GOD will give you the strength to get through this difficult time. GOD Bless!”

  10. “Louise, Our family was so fortunate to have you and “Mr. Jr.” as neighbors. The memories are precious treasures as you treated the six Raley boys as your own and you both were a great part of our childhood. You and Jr. were always there for our parents and that was always a great comfort. We will miss him but he will always be in our hearts.”

  11. “Louise, as you and Junior moved in next to my parents over 65 years ago I am in a unique situation of being your neighbor twice. The first time from when I was born until I turned 21 and then fast forward to 2004 when I moved back into my parents home. I first got to know him when I was a child and he was a relatively young man and then I got to know him again up close when he was in his twilight years. As a youngster I observed “Mr. Junior” (as we Raley boys called him then) seemingly always available to help my Dad fix things whether it be on his old surface well, finding a part for an old lawn mower, creating parts from scratch if necessary, helping to fix our bikes, comparing notes with Dad on gardening, giving us Raley boys sodas from his old refrigerator on a hot summer day or to quickly summarize just being a very very good neighbor to our family. He was always busy…almost running most of the time whether he was drilling wells, doing things around his house, doing for others or his church. As “Junior” aged and all his hard work in his younger days started taking a toll on his body life got very tough on Junior. His mind still wanted him to go go go but his body said otherwise and he had a lot of difficulty dealing with that. I saw how hard he tried and tried but he just couldn’t many times but that did not stop him from trying. I witnessed and learned from a man over the years who had an amazing mind and many talents who deeply loved you Louise. Yes, Junior was very frugal almost to a fault, outspoken at times, never at a loss for words (to put it mildly) and when he was feeling good had quite a quick wit. Louise, if I might paraphrase what I heard you say about Junior some time ago “When Junior was born the mold was thrown away. There is only one Junior Payne.” My life has been enriched by knowing Junior and no doubt he is smiling down on you Louise still trying to remind you to “straighten this or straighten that”. Junior was somewhat of a perfectionist but that is another thing that made Junior Payne what he was. R.I.P “Mr. Junior”….With love from your neighbor, friend and buddy…Steve “
