Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 10:00AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
Visitation:
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 6:45PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD.
John B. Abell, 80, of Clements, MD passed away on March 22, 2014 at his residence. Born on October 2, 1933 in Clements, MD, he was the loving son of the late John Lee and Agnes Abell. John B was the loving husband of the late Barbara Ann Abell, whom he married in St. Johns Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD on June 16, 1956, and who preceded him in death on July 15, 2011.
John B is survived by his children; Beverly Abell, John M. Abell, Joseph G. Abell, Charles V. Abell, Barbara J. Norris, William A. Abell, and Robert L. Abell all of Clements, MD, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and sister Jean Fields of Texas. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas B. Abell, siblings; Betty Lee Sullivan, Agnes F. Higgs, Ann Hope Adams, and Robert Abell.
John B graduated from Margaret Brent in 1951 and was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, MD. He enjoyed working on his farm, and was proud of all his tractors. He loved cooking, for family, especially during the holidays, telling stories of his life with a big smile, loved to make us all laugh, enjoyed traditional country music, his favorite Hank Williams. He was a very kind and generous man. John B. was fond of going on drives, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his loving family and remembering his beloved wife Barbara.

Honorary Pallbearers; Michelle Stenstrom, Woody Norris, Sara Norris, and Becca Norris.
