A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery St. Mary’s City, MD.
Robert Henry von Allmen, Jr., 75, of North Charleston, husband of Valerie Gramling von Allmen, passed away, Friday, April 4, 2014 at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, Charleston.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mr. von Allmen’s visitation on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Summerville Church of Christ, 413 Old Trolley Road, Summerville, from 4 o’clock until 5:30 o’clock followed by his funeral service at 6 o’clock. He will be laid to rest next to his two daughters on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:00 o’clock in Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery, St. Mary’s City, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summerville Church of Christ, 413 Old Trolley Road, Summerville, SC 29485.
Mr. von Allmen was born in Louisville, KY on December 14, 1938, son of the late Robert H. von Allmen, Sr. and Genevieve Reader von Allmen. He was a graduate of Portland Christian School, Louisville, KY and the University of Louisville. He was a lifelong loyal Cardinal’s fan and lifetime supporter of Portland Christian School. He had a passion for books, learning and for teaching the Word of God.
Survivors include one son: Michael “Shawn” von Allmen (Stephanie) of Cary, NC and four grandchildren: Nathan, Stephen, Justin and Kirsten von Allmen all of Cary, NC. He was predeceased by two daughters: Vicki and Karen von Allmen and one sister: Peggy Mastin.
