A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 10:00AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD .
Visitation:
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM with prayers recited at 3:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD.
Charles "Charlie" Aloysius Hall, 78 of Bushwood, MD passed away on June 19, 2014 at his home surrounded by family in Leonardtown, MD. Born August 22, 1935, he was the son of Charles Augustus Hall of Bushwood, MD and Amy Lucele Harris of Compton, MD. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Wilkinson Hall whom he married on November 30, 1957 in Washington DC, Sister; Cora Loveless (Ralph) Children; James Michael “Mike” Hall (Joan), Deborah Lynn Brooks (Warren), David Keith Hall (Nancy), Edward Dale Hall (Robin), and Nancy Ellen Borgschulte (John); 15 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren, and Nephew; Johnny Lacey (Pat).Charlie was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, MD. He had a heart of gold, if you shook his hand you were his friend for life but nothing was more important to him than his Family. He was a brick mason/foreman that worked for several local businesses, including Pierce & Gibson, Willie Stone, Porky Nelson, Millison Enterprises, Swarey Builders, and Lacey Construction. Charlie could be found most days riding his gator through the streets of Leonardtown, working in the yard, or at any political event in town. Dover Downs Casino was a favorite getaway when he wasn’t watching baseball or NASCAR. He enjoyed a good card game, family cookouts, crabbing, and fishing. He won the Maryland State Oyster Shucking Competition at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds. But, everyone knew Charlie best for the stories he told.
