Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 10:00AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 6:300PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. Margaret “Ginny” Virginia Gray, 96, of Leonardtown, MD passed away on October 24, 2014 in Callaway, MD. Born on February 2, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Agnes Odie Raley Downs, and James Webster Downs. Ginny was the loving wife of the late Leonard Foley Gray, Sr., whom she married on June 26, 1939 in Leonardtown, MD, and preceded her in death on November 12, 2005. Ginny is survived by her children; Margaret R. Greenwell of Leonardtown, MD and Charles M. Gray of Hollywood, MD, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Siblings; Dorothy (Dot) Hall of Leonardtown, MD. She was preceded in death by her sons; Leonard F. Gray, Jr., and Frank Gray, siblings; James Daley Downs, Sister Bernice Downs, Catherine Madel, Ethel Hitte, and Mary Annette Downs Guy. She attended St. Mary’s Academy and was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, MD. Ginny was a homemaker and was a member of the Senior Vibes, which she loved singing with the group, and she delivered meals on wheels. She also traveled with the Senior Citizen Group, enjoyed the holiday parties and dancing. Ginny cooked every Sunday for all her grandchildren, and in her spare time she loved knitting, sewing, canning, and being outside with her flowers and working in the garden. The family will received friends on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 6:30 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD.
