Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Francis Early officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM James Aloysius "Doc" Lacey, 74 of Chaptico, MD died May 6, 2006 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born July 6, 1931 in Hurry, MD he was the son of the late Walter Benjamin and Mary Ada Quade Lacey. He was the loving husband of Margaret Jean Mullen Lacey whom he married on July 19, 1958 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morganza, MD. He is survived by his children: Mary Virginia Simmons of Leonardtown, MD, Jacqueline Irene Lacey of Charleston, SC, James Michael Lacey, Stephen Aloysius Lacey, Brenda Jean Quade, Richard Alan Lacey, Raymond Howard Lacey, Brian Keith Lacey and Kathleen Marie Buckler all of Chaptico, MD; brothers: John Walter Lacey and Stephen Malvin Lacey, Sr. both of Chaptico, MD; grandchildren: David E. Simmons, John Simmons, Jamie Quade, T. J. Quade, Jonathon Quade, Andrew Quade, Jessica Buckler, Glen Buckler, Jr., Ashley Lacey, Cassidy Lacey, Emily Lacey, Nathan Lacey, Cody Lacey, Gwendolyn Lacey and Thomas Lacey and great grandchildren: Layla Ratliff, Jamie Quade, Jr. and Wesley Quade. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Lorraine Lacey, Mary Elsie Morgan, Raymond Lacey, Joseph Calvin Lacey and Leonard David Lacey. Mr. Lacey attended Sacred Heart School. He was a life long St. Mary's County resident where he was a tobacco farmer. Doc enjoyed gardening, camping and spending time with his family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11th from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM.
