Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 10 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 22800 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Visitation: Viewing and Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2005 from 5 PM till 8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, 41590 Fenwick Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Leonard Foley Gray, Sr. 90, of Leonardtown, MD died November 12, 2005 in Leonardtown, MD. Born April 26, 1915 in Medley's Neck, MD he was the son of the late Sarah Ellen Gray and Leonard Mitchell Downs. He was the loving husband of Margaret Virginia Gray whom he married in Leonardtown, MD on June 26, 1939. He is survived by his children: Leonard F. Gray, Jr., and Margaret Greenwell both of Leonardtown, MD, Charles M. Gray of Hollywood, MD; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his son Francis F. Gray and his siblings Bertha Gray and Edna Norris. Mr. Gray was a life long St. Mary's County resident. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and retired from the US Government in April 1985. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Father John Dakis officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Gray, Blake Gray, William Greenwell, Jr., Charles M. Greenwell, Leonard F. Greenwell, and Phillip J. Joy. Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD with Deacon Bill Nickerson officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. Leonard Foley Gray, Jr , 71 of Leonardtown, MD died on December 29, 2011 in Baltimore, MD. Born on April 19, 1940 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of Virginia Downs Gray and the late Leonard Foley Gray , Sr. Leonard is survived by his wife Jan Gray whom he married in Asheville, NC, his daughter Leigh Ann Gray-Smith of Hollywood, MD, his son's Blake and Jason Gray both of Leonardtown, MD, his brother Charles Gray of Hollywood, MD and his sister Margaret Rose Greenwell of Leonardtown, MD. He was preceded in death by his brother Frank Gray. Leonard graduated from Leonardtown High School in 1958. He served in the United States Army from September of 1963 until September of 1965. Leonard was a Commercial Loan Officer for Community Bank of Tri-County. He was a member of the Third District Optimist Club, The American Legion, The Chamber of Commerce and The Navy League. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home chapel where a Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM.
