  1. “Granddaddy, Our hearts still ache from your departure. Not a day goes by that you’re not thought of, the kids are constantly reminded of how great of a grandfather you were. You’ll forever be in my heart, until we met again. I love you!!!!”

  2. “Granddaddy, Good morning!! I miss you so much. People say time heals your pain, will not yet for me. I greatly miss your presence, the house doesn’t feel the same without you. You chair is gone, it was to difficult for everyone, plus no one would sit in it, because we all knew how you loved your chair. I miss your chicken soup, I made my own, it was nothing compared to yours. The kids are getting big and doing well in school. I’m getting myself together, I had slipped for a moment, but the remembrance of you, has me wanting to the be the person I was. I love you and miss you dearly!!!”

  3. “Granddaddy, good afternoon!!! I’ve been thinking about you often, I miss you so much. Life has change a lot since you left us. The kids are growing. We talk about you all of the time. Mom’s fine, she misses you more than she lets on. I’m just glad that you aren’t suffering.”

  4. “Granddaddy, It’s been 2 1/2 years. Things are becoming more bearable. For me time doesn’t mend the heart, daily I miss you more and more! I take comfort in the fact that you aren’t suffering. I feel like I have disappointed you in a lot of ways. I’m truly sorry. I love you!! The kids are getting big, Diamond will be 13 next month, Bubba’s 7. I look forward in seeing you in the paradise. Everyone else is hanging in there, it’s still hard to believe that you’re gone. But your memory lives forever. Again, I love and miss you. All things are possible thru faith. I spoke with Aunt June recently, we talk about you all the time. “

  5. “My Sweet Granddaddy, I miss you so much! I’m forever thinking about you. You were the only one that I could vent to without having to worry about, the info. leaking. Bubba is always taking about you. The entire family feels your loss, we’re all trying to do our best to remain strong. The hole in my heart won’t close until we’re reunited. I’m just glad that you’re not suffering. Granddaddy, you were so understanding, non-judgemental, just plain genuine. My mom say that Uncle Kenny is just like you. I’m still going thru some things, I know that you would be disappointed with me, but you would never give up on me. I love you!!!!!”

  6. “Granddaddy, time hasn’t stopped my heart ache. Aunt Marilyn had the 1st family gathering since you have been gone. It was nice, of course we could feel the void of you not being there. The kids are doing great. We miss you a lot!”

  8. “Granddaddy, you will 4ever be in our thoughts. Written by you Beautiful Daughter Mairlyn OUR DADDY I don’t know where or how to begin Our DADDY, You were and still is, Our KING, Our FATHER, our KING, where do I begin? Words can’t explain, for our words will never end, It’s 2a.m. In the morning And I’m still in mourning, until the break of dawning, Missing and Loving you, just as if you were here Often we speak of you, still we shed a many tear, So much Love, Wisdom, you so often shared You kept extending it to anyone, even if they did not care, You were our anchor, no one you feared You stood up for us, you were never scared, You fought in world wars, took on many tours Never once given any awards, But you are so, so gracefully adored, We love you from and within the depth of our heart, That’s why until this day, from us you will never part, You are our HERO, even though back in the day, they called a black man a negro, Raised a family of nine, retired from the navy, you said that s—t!, was no gravy, Never once did you ever complain Could adapt to any change, endured so much pain, In the kitchen, could put any of us to shame, You were a great chef, a hell of a baker, Always a giver, never a taker, So much of you lives in us to this day never forgetting you saying, you better behave , Even though you’ve laid down to rest, We will always remember , you’re the Greatest, YOU ARE THE BEST, MAK, Sent from my iPhone “
