Services: A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 21st at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rudy Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Public visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 21st from 10 - 11AM. George Paul Curtis, Sr. 87, of Leonardtown, MD, formerly of Lexington Park, MD died April 14, 2006 in St. Mary's Nursing Center, Leonardtown, MD. Born June 9, 1918 in Medley's Neck, MD he was the son of the late Marty and Nettie Curtis. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth Curtis whom he married in Medley's Neck, MD. He is survived by his children: Mary Fluellen of Leonardtown, MD, James Young and Catherine Fenwick both of Lexington Park, MD, Margie Buie of Sanford, NC, Agnes Brooks and Ann Moore both of San Diego, CA, George Curtis, Jr. and Linda Green both of Phoenix, AZ, Joseph Curtis of Forestville, MD, and Thomas Curtis of Lusby, MD, and his sister Catherine Young of Lexington Park, MD. He was also proceeded in death by his brothers and sisters: John Henry Curtis, Roger Curtis, James Curtis, Martin Curtis, Mitchell Curtis, Anna Mae Butler and Lillian Young; 33 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Curtis was a life long St. Mary's County resident and was a farmer/sharecropper until his retirement in 1992, and he also served in the U.S. Army for 4 years. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing and singing. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 21, 2006 from 10:00 â?? 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rudy Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be William Young, James Wendell Curtis, Antwan Curtis, James "Buddy" Curtis, Maurice Stewart and Lamont Curtis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Javonte Bonds, David Bonds and Gary Biscoe. Arrangements provided by Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A.
