Mary Ann Johnson (Hill)
November 5, 1932 ~ April 18, 2015
Mary Ann (Hill) Johnson passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Hollywood, MD at the home she loved. Born November 5, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Flora (Lyon) Hill. She was the wife of the late Raymond "Allison" Johnson whom she married on August 29, 1952 at Our Lady of the Wayside Church in Chaptico, MD. Mary Ann is survived by her son Raymond Kenneth "Kenny" Johnson (Debbie Noble) of Hollywood, niece/adopted daughter Cindy (Gilbert) Murphy of Avenue, MD, nephew/adopted son Vic Dunlap of South Carolina. Grandchildren Tammi (Billy) Dodge, Matt (Tonya) Johnson, Kristi (Joe) Parker, Kimmie (Michael) Gibson, Kathy Murphy (Georgie). Great-Grandchildren Samantha Dodge, Breanna Dodge, Karli Dodge, Taylor Dodge, Jeremy Watson, Julia Parker, Lillian Parker, Christopher Parker, Timothy Parker, Brady Gibson, Maci Gibson and Sadie Gibson. She is survived by her brothers Jim (Betty) Hill of California, MD, Bill (Mary) of Partlow, VA, sister Regina (Roland) Sydnor of Mechanicsville, MD, sister-in-laws Crystal Hill of Mechanicsville, MD and Celie Hill of Chaptico, MD.
Mary Ann graduated from Margaret Brent High School in 1951. Her long working career included, Catholic University, Leonardtown Dairy, The Beacon Newspaper and most notably her long career as secretary and business partner for Jim Dobry of Dobry Construction Company. She was a charter member of the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and over her lifetime worked many fundraisers. She enjoyed many things in life but was most pleased when spring rolled around to be able to get out and work in her yard. The later years brought many health challenges but also brought into her life her care giving angels, who not only helped her manage her everyday needs but helped her to enjoy life.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by siblings, Allen Hill, Veronica Dunlap, Lawrence Hill, Tony Hill, Pat Hill, Mike Hill, nephew/adopted son Dale Dunlap and business partner Jim Dobry.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with prayers recited at 7:00 PM . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church Hollywood, MD with Fr. Raymond Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Helen, MD.
Pallbearers are: Donnie Johnson, Walter Johnson, Matt Johnson, Billy Dodge, Randy Hill and Gary Hill.
Honorary Pallbearers are her care giving angels: Monica Richards, Tiffany Hancock, Rose Robinson, Sue Woodburn, Shawn Butler, Lola Butler and Glen Richards.

Kenny, What a Wonderful Lady she was .
Mary Ann was always so kind and willing to help, she is truely going to be missed by us all. Just remember she and Pappy are together now and finally without pain. The memories can never be taken away only become more special then ever. If we can do anything “Please just call” we will be there.
Prayers and Thoughts of you as the next few days will be difficult but with your frends and family, you will get thru and we will all be there to see you thru. RIP; Mary Ann

So sorry to hear about Mary Ann. She is now in peace. I know the Johnson family is waiting for her.

Cindy and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you all on your lost. I foundly recall when Ms. Johnson opened up her home to us to host a dinner party for Ms. Cox during our LMS days. May your wonderful memories of her ease your saddened hearts in time.

Cindy, Kenny and Family – So sorry to learn of your Mother’s passing. It is so hard to lose a Mother but know that she is an Angel in Heaven. We are sorry we will not be able to attend the services. We are praying for the family to get through these tough days with ease.
