James Donald "Jimmy" Hicks

James “Jimmy” Donald Hicks, 77, of Leonardtown, MD formerly from Danville, VA, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 15, 2015 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on March 14, 1938 in Danville, VA, he was the son of the late Martha and James Hicks. Jimmy was the loving husband of Georgia Beverly Hicks whom he married on October 3, 1964 in Lexington Park, MD. Jimmy is survived by his son James R. Hicks (Tara) of Leonardtown, 2 grandchildren Lauren Hicks and Nathan Hicks both of Leonardtown, MD. He was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and graduated from Great Mills High School. Jimmy served in the National Guard for 4 years and worked as an Engineering Technician for the Department of Navy for 40 years, retiring on December 30, 1998. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed collecting military patches and coins. Jimmy loved spending time with his family and friends. All services will be private.
