James Donald "Jimmy" Hicks
March 14, 1938 ~ June 15, 2015
James “Jimmy” Donald Hicks, 77, of Leonardtown, MD formerly from Danville, VA, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 15, 2015 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on March 14, 1938 in Danville, VA, he was the son of the late Martha and James Hicks. Jimmy was the loving husband of Georgia Beverly Hicks whom he married on October 3, 1964 in Lexington Park, MD. Jimmy is survived by his son James R. Hicks (Tara) of Leonardtown, 2 grandchildren Lauren Hicks and Nathan Hicks both of Leonardtown, MD. He was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and graduated from Great Mills High School. Jimmy served in the National Guard for 4 years and worked as an Engineering Technician for the Department of Navy for 40 years, retiring on December 30, 1998. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed collecting military patches and coins. Jimmy loved spending time with his family and friends.
All services will be private.





To Jim’s Family….so sorry to learn of Jim’s passing. I worked with Jim years ago on the base. My heartfelt condolences to everyone.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this sad time. He was a good man and will be missed by many.
Sure will miss seeing Jimmy in McDonalds drinking his tea and reading the paper from cover to cover. Our deepest sympathy to his family. God Bless.

Mrs. Hicks and Randy, we are sincerely sorry for your loss. Jim was a good man and we will miss talking to him about the latest and greatest issues facing the day. (He seemed to always have the answer). He was a true friend and we will miss him.
