Roger William Carroll
February 7, 1950 ~ August 6, 2015
Roger William Carroll, 65, of Lexington Park, MD, passed away on August 6, 2015 at his residence. Born on February 7, 1950, he was the son of the late Viola Carroll and Lloyd Carroll. Roger is survived by his daughter Laurie Kaye of California, MD, granddaughter Grace Olivia and grandson Evan James. Siblings: Donnie Carroll (Rosie), Peggy Vallandingham, Sandy Gerek, Mary Norris (Emerick), Elaine Carroll, Ed Carroll (Diane), Tony Carroll (Marie), Charles Carroll (Joanne), Sister in law Salinda Mae Carroll and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings: Frankie Carroll, Barbara Smith, Joan Cochran, brother in laws, Sam Vallandingham, Joe Smith, Mike Gerek, Corky Cochran, and Ron Yokum. Roger graduated from Great Mills High School in 1969, and Lincoln Technical Institute with a HVAC License. He was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident, and Served in the United States Army for 2 years. He enjoyed hunting, walking on the beach, spending time with his daughter and grandchildren, and spending time in his garage with his brothers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery Lexington Park, MD. Pallbearers will be: Ed Carroll, Moe Carroll, Ralph Owens, Dale Vallandingham, Ronnie Ridgell, and Jay Knott. Honorary Pallbearers: Grace Wood, Evan Wood, Donnie Carroll, Charles Carroll, and Tony Carroll.
