John Brian Frazier, 73, of Leonardtown, MD formerly from Arlington, VA, passed away on September 12, 2015 in his home. Born on May 27, 1942 in Denver, CO, he was the son of the late Bessie Sparks Frazier and John Frazier. John was the loving husband of Inez Maria Frazier whom he married on May 11, 1968 in St. Aloysius Catholic Church Leonardtown, MD. John is preceded in death by his sister Loretta Copley of AL. John graduated from South High School in 1960; while in high school John excelled in Junior ROTC, and went on to enjoy his time in the United States Army, serving in Ankara, Turkey. He served 3 years from 1960 to 1963. John graduated from Strayer College in 1974 with a Bachelors of Science. He worked as a Financial Manager with Amtrak in Washington, DC for 40 years retiring in December, 2005. John moved from Arlington, VA to St. Mary’s County, MD in 2015. John was grateful for the many friends he was privileged to know along the way. The family will receive friends on Friday September 18, 2015 from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church Leonardtown, MD with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown. MD. Pallbearers: Roger Mattingly, Roy Mattingly , George Higgs,Graham Law, Tobby Allen, and Randy Mattingly. Honorary Pallbearers: John Berry, and Kevin McLaughlin. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Leonardtown Vol. Rescue Squad P.O. Box 299 Leonardtown, MD 20650 , or the Leonardtown Vol. Fire Department P.O. Box 50 Leonardtown, MD 20650.

  8. Inez, I did not know John but his choosing you as his spouse speaks greatly of his character. I’m so sorry for your loss. My prays are with you and your family.

  9. Inez, I was so sad to hear that we lost John. He was a wonderful man and neighbor! I always loved talking with him and so appreciated his willingness to attend to my flower garden when I had to be gone. What I especially loved was how much he seemed to enjoy watering and caring for the plants. I know this is a very painful time for you and I’m sorry I’m no longer close enough to be there as a support. God bless and feel free to reach out to me when you need a friend.
