Leo "Beanie" Lathroum

Leo “Beanie” Lathroum, Jr., 84 of Hollywood, MD passed away on October 7, 2015 at his son’s residence in Hollywood, MD. Born August 25, 1931 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late Violet Frances Johnson Lathroum and Leo Aloysius Lathroum, Sr.
Beanie was the loving husband of Annie Marie Lathroum, whom he married on February 9, 1952 in Leonardtown, MD and who preceded him in death on February 3, 2010.
He is survived by his children; Barbara Jean (Daryl) Pilkerton of Hollywood, MD, Robert Allen (Donna) Lathroum of Hollywood, MD, Rose Marie (Tommy) Nutwell of Lexington Park, MD, Richard “Ricky” Wayne )Jackie) Lathroum of Mechanicsville, MD, step-son John Ralph Heard of Leonardtown, MD, siblings; Lillian Anderson of Abell, MD, Theresa (Bootie) Knight of Loveville, MD, Wallace Lathroum of Leonardtown, MD, James “Jimmie” Lathroum of Abell, MD and Mary Kelley of Compton, MD, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild. Beanie was preceded in death by his step-son James Benedict Heard, siblings; Catherine (Gertie) Burke, Estelle Farrell, Agnes (Doll) Card, Helen Eckerd and Margaret (Muggs) Quade.
Beanie was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County. He attended Margaret Brent School and owned Beanie’s Auto Repair. Beanie enjoyed working on cars, listening to Blue Grass, talking about the old times and spending time with family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 7:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10:00AM in St. Johns Catholic with Father Raymond Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be: Joe Bowles, Marvin Brooks, John Guy, Charlie Norris, Willie Johnson and Mike Sparks. Honorary pallbearers will be: James Sparks, Jacob Sparks, Johnny Heard, Kevin Heard, Justin Jones, T.J. Lundregan, Jackson Howsare, Shawn Howsare and Claye Howsare.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650

So many memories as a child with Uncle Beanie and Aunt Marie. I know they are in paradise together now and that makes this difficult time a bit more comforting.
