Terry Lee Nelson, (Pop Pop), 61 of Clements, MD passed away on October 2, 2017 at his home. Born on April 9, 1956 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late Agnes Kathleen Nelson and Francis Parran Nelson. Terry was the loving husband of Barbara Clara Nelson. Terry is survived by his children: Parran Nelson (Sandy) of Mechanicsville, MD, Nick Nelson of Mechanicsville, MD, Phyllis Copsey of Mechanicsville, MD, 2 grandchildren; Cassie and Morgan. Siblings: Shirley Vallandingham, Francis Parran Nelson, II., Jack Nelson, Sandra Caywood, Buck Nelson, Corky Nelson, and Donnie Nelson. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Pete Nelson, Joan Ryce, and Mickey Nelson.
Terry was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD. He was an Equipment Mechanic for URS in Solomons, MD.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 9:30 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be: Johnny Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Jimmy Nelson, Leonard Nelson, Steve Bowles, and Leroy Hill. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joe Parran Nelson, and Wade Shackelford.

Barbara and family we where both shock and sadden to hear about Terry Lee. Our thoughts and prayers are sent out to you and your family to help you get thru this difficult time.
Dear Mrs. Nelson, I send my sincere condolences in your time of heart ache. I have very fond memories of you both when I lived across the street from you on Victory Lane. Mr. Nelson would always help me find Buttons and get him back home. But most of all I admired his dedication and love he had for his grandchildren. I recently lost my husband and I understand all the emotions that you are feeling and my heart goes out to you. Just always remember all the love filled good times the two of shared and it will help get you thru. Take care and you are in my prayers.

I pray for peace and comfort for the entire Nelson especially his Wife and Children I was devastated to hear of Terry passing, he was a good friend and always fun to be around, he will be dearly missed, may God bless you all during these trying times.

Barb, I am so sorry to hear of Terry Lee’s passing. I know this is a great loss for you and the family. I recall how funny he was all those years ago working with him at the North End Exxon in Leonardtown. He was a character. I especially remember us going to the Harvest Ball at Leonard Hall all those years ago. God Bless!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
