Clifton “Cliff” C. Dean, 69, of Hollywood, MD passed away on January 22, 2018 in La Plata, MD. Born on October 5, 1948 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late Amanda L. Dean and Joseph A. Dean. Cliff is survived by his son William (Billy) Dean (Cathy) of Hollywood, MD, 2 grandchildren; Shannon Dean and Amy Dean. As well as his siblings; Joe Dean of Hollywood, MD, Leroy Jones of Mechanicsville, MD, Margie Sandidge of California, MD, Gary Dean of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dale Dean of Hollywood, MD, and Marlene Freeman of Hollywood, MD. He was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, MD and graduated from Leonardtown High School. Cliff worked for United Van Lines as a truck driver, retiring after 26 years. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM with prayers recited at 3:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Joy Chapel Cemetery Hollywood, MD. Pallbearers will be; Ricky Sandidge, Simmon Dean, Nathan Richard, Steve Sandidge, David Alvey, and Ronnie Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Rick Freeman and Chad Richards. Contributions may be made the Hollywood Vol. Fire Department P.O. Box 7 Hollywood, MD 20636 and Hollywood Vol. Rescue Squad P.O. Box 79 Hollywood, MD 20636.
