Elizabeth Lucille Norris, 72 of Leonardtown, MD passed away on January 23, 2018 at the Hospice House in Callaway, MD surrounded by her family and holding her husband’s hand of fifty-three years, James “Chally” Norris, Sr., whom she married on April 24, 1964 at Our Lady’s Catholic Church in Leonardtown, MD. Elizabeth was born on June 26, 1945 in Leonardtown, MD. She was the daughter of the late James Clark, Sr. and Ellen Dora Williams and the daughter in-law of the late Woodrow Wilson and Agnes Teresa Norris. Elizabeth is survived by her son’s James “Wally” Norris, Jr. and his wife Jackie and, Joseph “Joey” Norris and his wife Nancy. Elizabeth had three grandchildren Jake, Madison & Lucas Norris. She is also survived by her siblings Jimmy Williams (Tina), Ella Mae Ball, Janice Hammett (Wayne), Gary Williams (Cathy), John Williams (Jenny), Susan Redmond (Johnny), Joe Williams (Rebecca), Mary Garner (Boots), Jack Williams (June), Jackie Mays (Mike), Pat Howes (Randy), Ronnie Williams (Kathy), and Karen Bailey (John), sister and brother in-laws Margaret Ann Pruitt, Libby Bean (John), and Woody Norris (Jill). Elizabeth was a Daycare Provider for many years watching many of her nieces and nephews as well as her grandchild. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the family gatherings during the holidays, often times played the role of Mrs. Claus for the children. Elizabeth had a love for cooking, listening to bluegrass music, some of her most memorial moments were when she would go fishing with her husband Chally. They enjoyed spending time on the water and gardening. The family will receive friends on Monday January 29, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with prayers recited at 7:00 pm in the Mattingly-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Tuesday January 30, 2018 at Our Lady’s Catholic Church in Leonardtown, MD, with Father Anthony Lickteig officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jake Norris, Chris Garner, Matthew Williams, Darrell Williams, Stevie Williams, and J.F. Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are Madison Norris, Lucas Norris, Brian Hammett, Melissa McDonald, and Julie Mays. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
