Mary Rose Young, 73, of Morgazna, MD passed away on June 12, 2018. She was born on July 5, 1944 in Morganza, MD to the late Kathleen Stewart Young and James V. Young, Sr. Mary is survived by her children; Agnes “Pam” Savoy of Aquasco, MD, Tiara Baker of Morganza, MD and 4 grandchildren. Siblings; Jane Taylor, Frances Herbert, and James Young, Jr. She graduated from Cardinal Gibbon High School and was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident. Mary worked in Food Service at Leonardtown High School Leonardtown, MD for 12 years. Mary belonged to St. Joseph’s Sodality, and St. Joseph’s Community Committee.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 Am in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Morganza, MD with Father Andrew Royals officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be; Paul Stewart, Francis Stewart, Edward Taylor, Chino Stewart, Stephen Stewart, and Edward Holt. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Hills Backyard Horseshoe Team and Try Me Club.

Mary Ross was such a kind,sweet and gracious woman. She will be missed and mourned by many. She gave so much of herself. RIP,Mary Rose. I will miss your kindness and sweet smile.

I will always remember the strength I saw in Ms. Mary Rose. There was amazement in seeing how she carried herself and how her face would light up when she smiled. The world is more beautiful from her presence in it and that will be carried on through all those that loved her and all the lives she touched. I feel blessed that she was a familiar face to me as I have grown, even if she wouldn’t have recognized me by name. That is how you truly make an impact. Well done! My love and prayers to all.
