Grace Teresa Davis, 92, of Hollywood, MD passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 15, 2018 at her home. She was born April 29, 1926 in Hollywood, MD, and was the daughter of the late Annie M. Readmond Dorsey and John I. Dorsey. Grace was the loving wife of the late William Dallas Davis, Sr. whom she married on December 11, 1942 in Washington, DC and who preceded her in death on August 22, 2000. Grace is survived by her children; Virginia Davis Phaneuf of Phoenix, AZ, Phyllis Johnson (Jimmy) of Hollywood, MD, Brenda Deffibaugh (Chip) of Leonardtown, MD, Mike Davis (Linda) of Hollywood, MD, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and brother, Joseph P. Dorsey of Hollywood, MD. She is preceded in death by her children; William Dallas Davis, Jr. and Joseph Louis Davis. Siblings; Catherine Dixion, William Walter Dorsey, Evelyn Armsworthy, Mary Abell and Peggy Montgomery. She was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and was a homemaker. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. Where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ray Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers for Grace will be Gary Davis, Sr, Charles Deffibaugh, Ricky Johnson, Gary Davis, Jr, Michael Stone, and Wayne Goldsborough. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s P.O. Box 625 Leonardtown, MD 20650.

    Mrs. Davis will be sorely missed. She was such a kind and classy lady and we so enjoyed our conversations with her before and after Mass at St. John’s. Will always think of her when we do the rosary. She was a faithful participant and I have no doubt that Our Lady will greet her lovingly knowing all the rosaries she has prayed in her time with and for each of us. May you find comfort and peace in knowing that she loved each of you as you loved her.
