Eleanora Ellis Johnson,86, of Abell, MD passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at her home with her loving husband of 68 years and family by her side. Born February 20, 1934 in Abell, MD. She was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Esther L. Ellis. She was the wife of Charles A Johnson, whom she married April 26, 1952 in Holy Angels Catholic Church Avenue, MD. She was the mother of Teenie Hayden (Mike) of Avenue, MD, and her only grandson, Ellis M. Hayden of Avenue, MD. She was preceded in death by her sisters June L. Owens (Irving) of Abell, MD and Irene E. Mattingly (Louis B) of Abell, MD.
Eleanora was a life long resident of St. Mary’s County, MD. She had many hobbies, but she mostly enjoyed crabbing around the shore in the summer, taking pictures, making scrap books, talking with her nieces and nephews. Eleanora raised and cut her own tobacco. She loved to do crafts, ceramics, and shop with her daughter till she dropped. She also worked at Chopticon High School and Dynard Elementary School as a cafeteria worker for many years.
Ellis, her grandson, was the love of her life. She enjoyed spending every minute of every day with him.
All Funeral Services will be private at this time. Serving as pallbearers will be Bernie Owens, Don Owens, Charles Mattingly, Sr., Robert Cross, Ronnie Mattingly, and Charles Mattingly, Jr.
