  2. My heart goes out to Shawn’s loving family! I wish I had known him but if his family is any indication, he must have been a wonderful person! Shawn and Melody and their families will be in my thoughts and prayers!

  3. To Joey and family – My prayers are with you. I will fondly remember the holidays spent with Shawn around the dinner table, playing games, and easter egg hunts. May they rest in peace.

  4. Joe Boy, Karen, Bridgett, Shawn’s parents and Melody’s parents,
I am so very sorry for your loss.

For those who read this, I wish to tell you the following…
The Bailey family has a long history in St. Mary’s County, Maryland.
Loveville and Morganza is where my father, Wilmer and his brother Alton Bailey and their siblings grew up. Alton is Shawn’s great grandfather.
Joe, Karen, Ruthie, and Bridgett grew up there too, living just across the field and passed the barn from Shawn’s great great grandparents, Frank and Vertie Bailey, whom are our grandparents. Our line goes as far back as the 1600’s there in SMC. I’m proud of that, all of us are proud of that. We are all known for our big friendly smiles and easy going temperament. We never meet a stranger.

Tragedies such as have befallen your sweet Shawn and Melody is felt deeply by your family. We all love you. We all support you.

Shawn and Melody would have carried on the family name and I am sure made all of us very proud of the family they would have added to a long line of ancestors. I will make sure their names are in the Bailey Family Ancestry records.
I hope those ancestors are with them now, gathered around them as we gather around all of you in our sincere sympathy and grief. Let us help in any way we can. We’re always willing and able just as our ancestors were for one another.
God bless all of you and Shawn’s parents and Melody’s family. I wish I had met Melody. She certainly looks like she would have fit right in among the Bailey red heads.
    Love,
    Pat “Patsy” Bailey Leslie
