Margaret "Margie" E. Cheseldine
November 27, 1953 ~ February 15, 2022
Founder and owner of Cheseldine Management Consulting, Margaret “Margie” Elizabeth Cheseldine passed away in Texas February 15, 2022, after a determined battle with cancer. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her family, who will continue to honor her life and legacy by joyfully living theirs.
The DC native who made Colton’s Point her home, Margie graduated from St. Mary's College of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and went on to a remarkable career first with Charles County Government then with her own company, where she endeavored to improve the lives of everyone in the community. Margie was a fierce advocate for the less fortunate, and an incredible mentor to the many women who aspired to be like her.
Despite an award-winning career, Margie's greatest achievement and love was her family, including her large extended family. She is survived by Glenn G. Gass, her husband of 40 years; her children Justin Cheseldine-Gass (wife Andrea Carroll) and Lisa Margaret Cheseldine-Gass; and her grandchildren Stella Carroll Cheseldine-Gass and Vanna Carroll Cheseldine-Gass, all of Colton’s Point, Maryland.

I was saddened to hear of Margie’s passing…knowing her she did not give up to cancer without a good fight!
I worked with her many years ago at Community Service and have lasting good memories of Margie. She was a fair and compassionate person who was not judgemental. One of my memories is of her is coming into to the office many times with a tin of “”Mrs. C’s” fudge!
My deepest sympathy to Glenn, Justin and Lisa and hope the sadness you are feeling today will be replaced with the happy memories of her life.
I was saddened to learn about Margie’s passing. Margie hired me as a secretary for the Department of Community Services when I was new to the County in the early 1990’s. Margie made a lasting impression on my life, and I look back with fond memories on all the friends I made while I was at DCS. Margie was well respected throughout County Government and in Southern Maryland. She was the embodiment of what it meant to be a leader. Margie was a dynamic, strong and hard working woman who invested most of her life in humanitarian works. She touched the lives of so many vulnerable and under privileged people in the community. She was my mentor and my boss and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
I am very sorry to hear about Margie’s passing. I worked for her in Community Services for several enjoyable years. She was strong, passionate and dedicated to doing the best for the County. Rest in peace, Margie. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
It was so sad to learn of Margie’s passing. Professionally, I remember Margie as an amazing CCG colleague. She was a recognized and respected community service leader of the highest order, not only in the Tri County area but in the Washington Metropolitan Region and beyond. Personally, I remember with gratitude the care and assistance she provided when I most needed help and support after my mom suffered a catastrophic illness. Sincere condolences to her loving family.
To Glen & family, our sincere condolences on the loss of Margie. Please know that all of you are in our prayers. May Margie Rest In Peace and may the Lord bless you always.
Margie and I were truly like sisters way before my brother Glenn married her. We frequent washington DC clubs e.g. “Someplace Else” for many years. I never came back to 7D when Margie didn’t Host me at their lovely home on Dukeheart Creek Road. She always provided me with a vehicle so I could visit my many cousins and friends. I remember our traditions with Debbie Jagger and Claire Delozier celebrating e.g., my Birthday celebration all day with the Hammett Clan at the Leonardtown Winery. Margie will be forever in my heart. So happy she got her Coors Light in hand as many relatives in heaven have missed her. My sincere condolences to Glenn, Justin, Andrea, Stella, Vanna and Lisa. Love Always, Aunt Jo Jo

I am saddened to hear of Margie’s passing. I worked for her at the department of community services in the housing department in late 80’s early 90’s. She taught me what I needed to do to succeed and encouraged me every step of the way. She was definitely a class act. There will never be another Margaret Cheseldine.
The Young’s Family
It is my prayer that God will comfort you and your whole family during this sad time. May he richly bless you as you mourn, and may the light of His presence be a continual source of consolation. My sister Thomsena always talked highly of her. I cannot believe the passing of our 7th District Families. Again, our love and compassion goes out to the family.
