Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. – I would like to share some of my memories of Kevin.

He was a curious child. Interested in almost everything. He was especially interested in outdoor
activities and music. He enjoyed swimming, camping, hiking, baseball, basketball, riding his bike,
    Playing guitar and piano.

Yearly camping adventures were anxiously anticipated by the whole family.

We would pack up the tents, cook stoves, cookware, fishing rods and reels, hiking clothes

And it seems everything in the house and head for New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. We would always spend at least one week between New York and Massachusetts
To visit with both sets of grandparents. Then we would select camping areas in New York, Vermont and New Hampshire.
We looked forward to seeing our grandparents and then spending time camping, fishing and hiking.

I remembered one year in the Adirondack Mountains of New York at Meacham Lake.

We went to the lake fishing that morning and Kevin came back to camp beaming with joy.

He had caught an 8 lb. Great Northern Pike. He was ecstatic.

We had many years of family fun camping, hiking and fishing.

Kevin also like to fish in the Chesapeake Bay. We would hire a charter boat and fish for mostly
Rockfish (striped Bass), Bluefish and Weakfish (sometimes referred to as sea trout).
I remember one year when Kevin caught a nice 15 lb. rockfish. He was telling the story for years after he
    caught that fish.
We had fish fillets for many family dinners.

By the time Kevin was in high school he was very much consumed by playing guitar in fact

He majored in music at St. Mary’s college. He formed a band in the later years and played

All over the county. Two of the band members may be here today? Kevin Stevens and John Bradburn?

Kevin played many genres of music including: Classical, Jazz, pop, Rock, folk, and blues.

I remember him playing classical pieces by Andrés Segovia, Mozart, and Beethoven and others. Kevin

Played that music so beautifully. He was equally at ease playing Jazz especially the music of Joe Pass,
Herb Ellis, Barney Kessel, Howard Roberts, George Van Epps, Wes Montgomery and too many others to
    mention.
He was part of the carolers for the annual Christmas Madrigal Dinner, a Renaissance –style holiday
Banquet and performance celebration at St. Mary’s College, in the late 70’s.

I have great admiration for Kevin’s musical talent and I am grateful to have had Kevin as my brother.

Rest in peace Kevin. I love you

    Jack Nial
