  1. Richard (Richy) and I met near the end of 8th grade, we lived next door from one another and became fast friends. He and his family became the family I didn’t have, showed me unconditional love. We camped, rode motorcycles, summered and laughed all the time. He and I joined the Navy, made Chief the same day, and travelled the world. He and his family saved my life and I can never thank them enough, forever he will be my brother and friend. I’ll miss him.

  2. Rick was a great friend and loved life. Thinking of you all. Kelly Frazier.

  3. To the Nelson family, I worked with Rick at Patuxent River, NAS for many, many years, and he was truly a great person to work with. My thoughts are with his family during the difficult road ahead. May he rest in peace. Dawn Christian
