Ronald Anthony “Ronnie” Norris, 72, of Hollywood, MD, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023 at the Hospice House in Callaway, MD. Born on March 8, 1951 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late Gertrude H. Norris and the late James A. Norris. He is survived by his siblings, Catherine Ann Sweeney (Danny) of Hollywood, MD, Ray Norris (Kathy) of Hollywood, MD, David (Georgeanne) of Hollywood, MD, Mike Norris of Hollywood, MD, Ted Norris (Karen) of Casar, NC, his sisters-in-law, Jeanne Norris of Dowell, MD, and Debbie Norris of Hollywood, MD. He was preceded in death by his siblings William (Bill) Norris and Pat Norris. Ronnie was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, MD and grew up on the family farm assisting his father in daily farm activities. He had an uncanny ability to remember dates, events, etc., and would often be asked questions in this area, which he would answer without hesitation. Without any formal training, Ronnie was also blessed with an exceptional artistic talent which was displayed in his drawings. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens fan. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John’s Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD, with Father Ray officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Sweeney, Eric Sweeney, Brian Norris, Patrick Norris, David Abell, and Mike Abell. Contributions in Ronnie’s honor may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Ronnie’s family is so appreciative of the professional team at the Hospice House and the caring support and treatment they provided Ronnie during his stay. Arrangements provided by the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.A., Leonardtown, MD.
