Julie Ann Petroff

Julie Ann Petroff, “Jewels”, 66, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on May 3, 2024, in Leonardtown, MD. Born on August 15, 1957, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Loretta Sayre and David Sayre, both of St. George’s Island, MD. Julie was the loving wife of Carl M. Petroff, Sr., whom she married on March 19, 1977, in St. George’s United Methodist Church, St. George’s Island, MD. She is survived by her children, Carl M. Petroff, Jr. of Mechanicsville, MD and David T. Petroff of Mechanicsville, MD, as well as five grandchildren. Julie graduated from Great Mills High School in 1975. She was a secretary for the St. Mary’s County Board of Education for 42 years, retiring in 2017. Julie was an EMT with the Mechanicsville Vol. Rescue Squad and the Valley Lee Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made to the Mechanicsville Vol. Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 15, Mechanicsville, MD 20653 and/or the Second District Vol Rescue Squad, P.O.
