My thoughts and prayers to you all in this great loss.
We will greatly miss Ed Swecker. Here is one last tap on the shoulder for eternity.
Ed Swecker was tremendous help to me as a beginning cattle farmer. Previously, our bull was released for serving cattle on a year-round basis. This meant we were having calves born in December, January and February in freezing temperatures. Sometimes the calves’ mouths would get frostbit and the cows’ teats would be very chaffed. Ed suggested for me to hold off putting out the bull until after Memorial Day which would make the cows have calves in March and April . The cows give better milk since they were getting pasture and green grass and the calves would grow much faster. This in just one of the pieces of
advice Ed Swecker gave to me. He was such a kind and Christian man. I am a better man for having known him.
better person for having known him and being around him.

I remember Ed very well beginning with our days at Chopticon and continuing to the present. He, Jim Estep, and Dan Cox ran a “tight ship” in their departments. I am positive he will be missed by those he influenced. Ed and his God are now dueting to the music of “Country Roads.”
One of best men in my life. we shared an amish farm when I was going the Naval Air Test Pilot School at Pax river Maryland. CDR Millard Cosby
