To Kathy’s family and friends. May your memories sustain you during this sad time. I will always remember her and her fantastic wit from our days working on the base.

  2. Kath was the baby of the family and will be so greatly missed. Love Betty & Wes

  3. Kathy was always the bravest, most fearless of our group of five youngsters…she showed that same spirit this past month. We have wonderful memories of our times together. Rest in peace, BFL.

  4. My condolences to Kathy’s sons. You never knew me, but Kathy was my best friend in high school, where she excelled as a gymnast and loved being a cheerleader. She was “Gibber” and nicknamed me “Neatsey.” Our group of friends included Ellie, Rosemary, Hazel, Marcia, and Candy, but she was the center of it. She was sassy and irreverent. She loved to talk about her big family. She could be a drama queen and a risk-taker. I was with her when she jumped off the cliff overhanging the quarry swimming hole! I’ve never known anyone else like her. She left me with many memories.

  5. Aunt Kathy would come to visit her sister Leslie (my Mom) in RI and it was always wonderful to hear them laugh and tell stories from their childhood. I remember visiting her and her family in Minnesota in the winter and later in Maryland in the summer, and meeting her good friend Carolyn and Carolyn’s daughters Julie and Brenda who were good folks who obviously cared a lot for Aunt Kathy. She was funny and direct, but also private and pretty. She sure loved being “Nanny” to her two grand-daughters. She met my mini-dachshund Gwen at a family picnic and liked her much, she got her own soon after, Penny. She hated cheese and collected owls, and loved her family very much. She will be missed so much!

  6. Such a special person and dear friend. I will miss you, Kathy. We had some great times together, like that time in Minnesota with the five young boys! What were we thinking? Love you 💖. Karen

  7. I started work at the US Commisary Store as a Store Checker, in 1980 with Kathy. She made work fun and I will never forget her smile, and her infectious laughter! I remember she shared this story with me. She told this lady came up to her and told her she had a bad potato in her bag she put on the conveyer belt.
Kathy looked at the bag and then she took the bag and spanked it saying bad potato! Bad potato! I hit the floor with laughter. I used to called her what a woman! She loved her family, and especially her granddaughters.
Rest in peace my dear friend. We live in NC now and won’t be able to attend the service, but we will hold you all in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. God bless y’all. Hugs, Karen Smith Arnold Stopa

  8. Dear, Sean, Paul, Kristin, Hailey, Peyton and the rest of the Gibbs clan. My deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother, grandmother sister aunt and my dearest cousin. 9. I worked with Kathy for quite a few years in the Comptroller Department at NADOC and NAVAIR. I will never forget her infectious laughter, her sense of humor, and her sassiness. She was quite a character and kept us laughing all the time. She adored her dog, Penny, and would often tell our division director that Penny had called her and she needed to go home because Penny missed her. We learned early on that Kathy did not like cheese, so there was to be no cheese in any dishes we made for our office pot-luck lunches and parties. Halloween was such fun, as our office would come up with a group idea and we would all dress accordingly. Kathy was the perfect “lady of the night” one year, and our song was “She Works Hard for the Money” … what memories and great fun! Kathy always made the daily grind of work interesting and entertaining. She absolutely loved her sons and their families, and was so proud of all of them. My heartfelt condolences go out to her entire family.
