John Oscar Schuhart, Jr., “Johnny” 73, of Chaptico, MD, passed away on October 2, 2024, at his home. Born on October 12, 1950, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Margaret Viola Schuhart (Murphy) and the late John Oscar Schuhart, Sr. Johnny was the loving husband of Dorothy Lee Schuhart (Windsor), whom he married on August 26, 1978, in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, Chaptico, MD. He is survived by his daughters, Nicole Schuhart (Jeff Nalley) of Chaptico, MD and Elizabeth Parham (Darrell) of Chaptico, MD, his sisters, Judy Richards (David) of Chaptico, MD and Betty Jean Pasko (Joe) of Chaptico, MD, his niece, Amanda Shaffer (Steve) of Severna Park, MD, and three grandchildren, Johnathan Lawrence, Andrew Lawrence, and Brooke Parham. Johnny was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and graduated from Chopticon High School in 1968. He was a farmer for Locust Plains Farm, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and riding with his grandchildren on the farm in his ranger. Johnny was also a carpenter along with his father and built many barns and homes for his family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 AM with Father Chip Luckett officiating.   4. I am so sorry for your loss. He was the kindest man. My brother, Joe Vallandingham, thought the world of him. He always got seed wheat in the fall. I know God has thoroughly blessed him.
