George Wallace "Teenie Boy" Lathroum, Jr.

George Wallace Lathroum, Jr., “Teenie Boy”, passed away on November 23, 2024, in Washington, D.C., surrounded by his loving children. Born on September 6, 1953, in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late George Wallace and Violet Elizabeth Lathroum, Sr.
Teenie Boy is survived by his children, Deb Lathroum-Bacon (Steve) of Tall Timbers, MD and Kevin Lathroum (Beth) of Leonardtown, MD, grandchildren Kylie Duncan, Kennedy Bacon, and Lilly Lathroum, siblings Bubba Lathroum of Hollywood, MD, David Lee Lathroum (Paula) of Leonardtown, MD, Glen Lathroum of Clements, MD, Judy Adams (Brett) of Leonardtown, MD, and Sharon Woodburn (Bernie) of Leonardtown, MD, and bonus grandchildren Jaliya, Corinne and DJ Fuller. In addition to his parents, Teenie Boy was preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Woods and Johnny Lathroum.
A lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, MD, Teenie Boy worked as an Equipment Operator for Chalk Point Power Plant until retiring in 2000. After his retirement, Teenie Boy worked as a mechanic in his home body shop. He enjoyed spending time with family, dirt track racing at Potomac Speedway, watching NASCAR, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with prayers recited at 7:00 PM, in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Mary Dryden officiating. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be DJ Lathroum, Corey Woodburn, Steve Knott, Brett Adams, Bernie Woodburn, and Gene Wathen.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 299, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and/or Hospice of St. Mary’s, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
