Agnes Cecelia (Quade) Pilkerton, 93, of Leonardtown, MD, formerly of Bushwood, MD, passed away on November 27, 2025, in Leonardtown, MD. Born on November 8, 1932, in Bushwood, MD, she was the daughter of the late Grace Irene Lacey Quade and the late James Carroll Quade, Sr. Agnes was the loving wife of the late William Melvin Pilkerton, Jr., whom she married on January 30, 1954, and who preceded her in death on April 13, 2018. She is survived by her children, Janet M. Williams (Gary) of Leonardtown, MD, Judy F. Willey (David) of Hollywood, MD, and Joanne C. Namyst (Joe) of Waldorf, MD, her sisters-in-law, Ann Quade and Ginny Quade, her daughters-in-law, Tammy Pilkerton and Kim Pilkerton, ten grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and her longtime best friend, Sylvia Lacey. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, William “Bill” M. Pilkerton III and Charles W. Pilkerton, her siblings, David Roy Quade (Mary), Joseph Leonard Quade (Eleanor), James Maguire Quade, Mary Catherine Wathen (Elwood), Dorothy Irene Quade (Popeye), Thelma Louise Hall (Tink), Stephen Bernard “Bernie” Quade (Anna Marie), Francis Aloysuis “Frank” Quade, James Carroll Quade (Frances Lee), and Matthew William Quade, and two grandchildren, Ann Mary Pilkerton and Gabrial Namyst.
Agnes was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1950. She was a clerk at Ben Franklin craft store, retiring in 1987. Agnes and her husband enjoyed travelling, especially bus trips to Atlantic City and visiting family in Florida, and attending fairs and festivals. She enjoyed long phone conversations and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM, with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Williams, Kevin Pilkerton, JW Russell, Dameon Hayden, Jacob Namyst, and Joshua Namyst.

Mrs Pilkerton was such a sweet Soul. MY sister and I were in the majorettes OF Leonardtown Fire house with her daughters. The family and friends have All of my Prayers and Condolences at this time!
I loved Aunt Agnes She and Uncle Melvin stood up for my Mom and Dad when they got married. Celine and Gregory Trossbach May she rest in peace.
Agnes was the best neighbor- we loved her and she will be surely missed. Rest in Peace sweet lady with Melvin, Charlie & Billy.
