David Corbin Lerette

David Corbin Lerette died on December 9th, 2025. He was a resident of Washington, DC for the majority of his adult life. He was 79. David was predeceased by his parents, Earle and Mary Lerette; his sister, Susan Lerette; his brother and sister-in-law, Earle Jr and Marilyn Lerette. He is survived by his sister, Ellen Lerette of Leonardtown, MD. After graduating high school, David enlisted in the US Navy where he served on the destroyer, the USS Du Pont (DD-941). The ship took enemy fire in Vietnam, killing one and wounding eight others. Despite the casualties to men and ship, Du Pont continued on station for another two weeks before heading for Subic Bay and repairs. David received the National Defense Service Medal. David enjoyed family gatherings, playing golf and other sports, and being around family and friends. His outgoing personality was perfect for his chosen profession as a bartender. He was much loved, and will be missed greatly by family and friends alike.
