Danny Monroe Lasley

Danny Monroe Lasley, 77, of Leonardtown, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Charlotte Hall Veterans’ Home on Jan. 22, 2026. He was born Mar. 14, 1948 in Middlesboro, KY to the late John F. and Ruth A. Lasley. Danny was raised in Middlesboro and left at age 17 to join the US Navy. In his 22-year Naval career, he was stationed at several bases around the US. Danny met his wife, Kathleen Moore Lasley, while he was stationed at NAS Lakehurst, NJ, in 1966. They were married on May 10, 1969. Danny served two tours in Vietnam as well as deployments in Antarctica and Japan. He was in the Navy Seabees from 1966 to 1977, when he went into Naval aviation as a parachute rigger. Danny retired from the Navy as a Chief in 1987. He worked for Dyncorp at NAS Patuxent River, MD from 1987 until his retirement in 2010. Danny enjoyed working on various projects in his garage and riding Harley motorcycles. He had many friends in the Harley community in St. Mary’s County. Danny is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughters Kelly Lasley and Carey Cleveland (Patrick), both of Ithaca NY, sister Lynn Parton (Gene) of Sparta, TN, grandchildren Ross White and Jed Cleveland, and great-granddaughter Aubree White, all of Ithaca, NY. A private family memorial service was held on Jan. 28. Arrangements by Mattingley Gardiner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.A, Leonardtown, MD.
