Samuel Brubaker “Sam” Sensenig, 89, of Leonardtown, Maryland, died June 17, 2026, at his home. He was born on July 6, 1936, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to Samuel Weaver Sensenig and Lizzie Brubaker Sensenig.
Sam married June Irene Sensenig on March 21, 1959, in Lexington Park, Maryland. He worked as a mechanic for his company, Sensenig’s Garage, for more than 46 years before retiring in April 2019.
Sam is survived by his wife, June Irene Sensenig; his children, Patricia Sensenig of Kentucky, Greta Martin of Maryland, Wendy Gehman (Matthew) of Maryland, Dorcas Sensenig of Maryland, and Karen Sensenig of Pennsylvania; 17 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Weaver Sensenig and Lizzie Brubaker Sensenig; and his siblings, Esther Sensenig, Emma Sensenig, Mattie Sensenig, Amos Sensenig, Frank Sensenig, Edith Martin, Irene Martin, Bertha Sensenig, Harry Sensenig and son-in-law Nelson Martin.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mechanicsville Mennonite Church in Mechanicsville, MD. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM, with Bishop Nathan Sweigart and Clair Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Chesapeake Mennonite Church Cemetery in Hughesville, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Stanley Gehman, Delmar Danner, Michael Martin, Lynden Weaver, Loren Gehman, and Calvin Martin.
