The gates of Heaven swung open on the 11th of July 2026 and welcomed William Carroll Quade home at the age of 74. Among those anxiously waiting to greet him were his beloved wife, Trudy Anne Quade (Means), his father, Joseph Leonard Quade Sr., his mother, Eleanor Estelle Quade (Pilkerton), older brother Joseph Leonard Quade Jr. (Teressa) and many more of his extended family.  He is survived by his children, Erin M Herche (Doug) of St Leonard, MD, Kimmie A Conway (Frank) of Haines City, FL, Kristina M Erickson (Ryan), of St Petersburg, FL, Kimberly A Chandler (Randy) of Huntingtown, MD, and Willie C Quade Jr. of Clements, MD. 14 grandchildren Maxwell Herche, Aidan Herche, Emma Herche, Mariah Paddock, Caleb Miller, Keira Conway, Cossette Browning, Aurora Browning, Randy Chandler Jr., Wallie Chandler, NoraRose Chandler, Peter Chandler, Sunny Chandler, and Celine Chandler. 2 great-grandchildren Arthur Cookson and Ada Cookson.  Carroll’s siblings still here are Karen L. Boszko (Dave) of Mechanicsville, MD, John Kevin Quade (Sherry) of Clements, MD, and Sharon A. Lacey (Tony) of Hollywood, MD.

Carroll began his schooling at Holy Angels Sacred Heart and graduated from Chopticon High School’s Class of 1970.  He served in the Army National Guard after high school. His love for the guitar started at an early age and he was playing at venues by 15 with his band, The Invadors. He played with many bands throughout his life and shared his love of music with many.  Hunting was something he grew up with and continued for many years.  All that said, his greatest treasure in this life was his family.

Please join us for at a Memorial Gathering for Carroll on Friday, October 9th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at his home in Clements, MD.

  3. I will miss Carroll but take solace in the fact that he is with Trudy again. So many great memories over the years, watching kids grow up, band gigs, bbq’s. Rest in peace my dear friend.

  5. Carroll was such a dear, special friend and we will miss him dearly. He was a treasure, had a gentle, kind heart and loving presence. He loved his family with all his heart and spoke of each of you often. We knew him through music. He played in a band with my husband, Eric, and participated in our annual music jams.   8. Thank you Carroll for all the times we played music together. You were the smoothest bass player I’ve ever had the opportunity to play with, and sing to your bottom end that you laid down, every time. I certainly miss Trudy who quite possibly kept me alive after getting swarmed by yellow jackets while posting no trespassing signs on Mark’s property before the last party she attended. When she passed I knew that Carroll’s soulmate was gone. Carroll then kept his passion for music alive at a new fury. Thank you William, I will miss you.

  10. Carroll was a good friend and I will miss his presence, his good heart and the unconditional love he had for so many friends, musicians, and especially his family. He always welcomed me to sing with his bands and while our band never came to fruition, there was joy in the play! You and your lovely wife Trudy are dancing together in the heavens! She was always the 1st one on the dance floor. God Bless you Carroll. Thanks for being my friend. ❤️🙏
