Our Story

"Our Family Helping Your Family"

We are proud to be a family-owned, locally operated funeral home, offering over 100 years of funeral service heritage to our community.

In 1898, William "Clement" Mattingley opened W.C. Mattingley Funeral Home where he served as owner and funeral director for 42 years. The funeral home passed down through the family until 1988 when Michael Kevin Gardiner, Sr., who had worked for the Mattingley's for 16 years, purchased the funeral home. The name of the funeral home changed at that time to Mattingley-Gardiner to reflect the new ownership.

Today, Michael Gardiner still holds to the philosophy that the Mattingley Funeral Home started six generations ago, "Our family helping your family with the best possible care."
