Obituary for Warren Lee Dearstine

Warren Lee  Dearstine
Warren L. Dearstine, 92, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on July 23, 2015 in Charlotte Hall, MD. Born on October 9, 1922, he was the son of the late Eva May and Bernard Joseph Dearstine. Warren was the loving husband of Agnes Bertha Dearstine, whom he married on July 25, 1945 in Indian Head, MD
He is also survived by his children: David M. (Donna M.) Dearstine of Mechanicsville, MD, Mary Ann (Mark) Svare of Fredericksburg, VA, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents Warren was preceded in death by his sons Francis J. Dearstine and Kenneth W. Dearstine, siblings, Bernard J. Dearstine and Ruth E. Dodson.
Warren graduated from Margaret Brent High School in 1941; he served in the United States Army during World War II earning the Good Conduct Metal, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and World War II Victory Ribbon. Warren was a Planner and Estimator at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, retiring in 1977 after 34 years of service. Warren was a life member of the American Legion, Voiture 456 of the 40 ET8.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM followed by American Legion Prayers at 7:15PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Glenn Strickler officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be; David Dearstine, Jr., Daniel Dearstine, Kenneth Russell, Rebecca Flannigan, Raymond Dixon and James Dixon. Honorary pallbearer will be Erik Svare. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home and/or Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad.
