Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2005 at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conceptions Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, MD with Father Peter Alliata officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery. Visitation: Public Viewing & Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. Bernard Zachary "Pic" Pilkerton, 68, of Mechanicsville, MD died July 4, 2005 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born March 16, 1937 in Mechanicsville, MD he was the son of the late Martin Leonard and Cora Elizabeth Morgan Pilkerton. He was the loving husband of Hazel Lorraine Garner Pilkerton whom he married on September 14, 1965 in St. Mary's County. He is survived by his children: Brenda LaRoche and her husband Peter of Mechanicsville, MD, Karen Buchanan and her husband Donald of Morgantown, WV, Tracey Pilkerton of Chantilly, VA, Lee Pilkerton of Norfolk, VA and Cathy Knox of Beaufort, SC; brothers and sisters: William D. Pilkerton of TN, E. Virginia Payne of WV, Betty Lee Buckler of Charlotte Hall, MD and Donna M. Roberts of CA; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Bernard Z. Pilkerton and brother Martin Leonard Pilkerton. Mr. Pilkerton was a life long St. Mary's County resident. The family received friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2005 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Peter Alliata officiating. Interment followed in St. James Cemetery, Dameron, MD. Pallbearers were George Payne, Jr., Jason Greer, Michael McQueeney, Billy Mudd, Bill Umberger and Rod Nelson. Honorary Pallbearers were Buddy Barts and Michael Green.
