Nicholas John "Nick" Vagianos

Nicholas John Vagianos, “Nick”, 97, of Leonardtown, MD, formerly of New York, NY, passed away on November 22, 2024, in Prince Frederick, MD. Born on November 13, 1927, in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Katina Vagianos and the late George Vagianos. Nick is survived by his children, Nicholas J. Vagianos, Jr. of Fort Washington, MD, Theodore P. Vanos of Westminster, CA, David N. Vanos, MD of Mead, WA, and Genevieve Anne Gilbert-Rolfe of Gainesville, FL, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one great-great grandchild. Nick graduated from Stuyvesant High School, New York, NY in 1945, and then went on to graduate from Bethany College in 1947 with his Bachelor of Science degree. Nick served as a pilot in the United States Navy for 22 years, from 1945 to 1967. He then worked as an Aeronautical Engineer from 1969 to 1988, stationed at Patuxent River NAS, MD. Nick was a proud member of the Flying Midshipmen, and loved golfing, traveling, sharing stories of his flying career, photography, and spending time with family. The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private.
