Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home chapel with prayers recited at 7:00 PM. Addie Martha Lee, 97 of Newburg, MD formerly of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on September 3, 2014 in LaPlata, MD, born October 24, 1916 in St. Mary’s County, MD. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Knott Burch and Edwin Burch. Addie was preceded in death by her first husband, John B. Wathen on August 5, 1973 they were married on November 28, 1933 in St. Aloysius Catholic Church and her second husband Charles Lee on June 19, 1986, and they were married in Leonardtown, MD. Addie is survived by her children; Joseph (Patsy) Wathen of Leonardtown, MD, Doris (Jack) Harding of Newburg, MD and Joyce (Tommy) Wheeler of Hollywood, MD, siblings; Lillian Boyden of Waldorf, MD and Beatrice Nelson of LaPlata, MD, also survived by 35 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Addie was preceded in death by her children; John A. Wathen, Robert Wathen, Delores Callanan, Gene Wathen and Leonard Wathen, siblings; G, Edward Burch, Ecton Burch, Mac Burch, Lewis Burch, Oakley Burch, Helen Marshall, Madeline Thompson, Mary Long, Julia Robertson, Eleanor Elizabeth Bowles and Cora Morgan. Addie was a homemaker, she was a member of the Moose Lodge, and she enjoyed bingo, playing cards, dancing, flowers and watching birds. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 7:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD with Fr. Keith Woods officiating. . A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:00AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Joe Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be Raymond C. Harding, Jr., Martin Osakowicz, Robert Coates, Gene Wathen, Travis Coates and Ralph Wheeler.
