Services:
Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 9, 2006 at 10AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
Visitation:
Viewing and Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8, 2006 from 5PM till 8PM with prayers being said at 7PM in the funeral home chapel.
Agnes Gertrude "Gertie" Meyer, 92 of Leonardtown, MD formerly of Hyattsville, MD died February 4, 2006 in St. Mary's Nursing Center. Born June 29, 1913 in Hollywood, MD she was the daughter of the late Joseph King and Mary Adell Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband Isaac Joker Meyer on December 28, 1968 in Hyattsville, MD. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Elmira E. Wallace, William Dallas Davis, Charles King Davis and Joseph Donald Davis. Mrs. Meyer was the aunt of three generations of nieces and nephews. She moved to St. Mary's County in March of 1996 from Hyattsville, MD. She worked for Woodward & Lothrop Inc. for over 20 years in the marketing department. She enjoyed traveling to the country on the weekends to be with family and to enjoy the country cooking her sisters would prepare. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Dixon, Sr., Daniel Dixon, Jr., Dale Dixon, Rick Hill, Michael Payne, Jr. and Johnny Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Meyer's niece's Debbie Dixon, Mary Nona Guy and Judy Payne. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Greater Washington Chapter, Southern Maryland Office, P.O. Box 1899, La Plata, MD 20646.
