Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10:00AM in St. Aloysius Catholic church with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Trinity Episcopal Cemetery St. Mary’s City, MD. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 7:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. Angela Stead, 73, of California, MD formerly from Homosassa, FL, and Bowie, MD, passed away on October 24, 2014 in Callaway, MD. Born on April 19, 1941 in Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Angela Stanko and John Stanko. Angela is survived by her children; William Stead of Brooksville, FL, Cindy Stead of Leonardtown, MD, Brian Stead of Laurel, MD, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and brother John Stanko of Jacksonville, FL. Angela graduated from West Pittston High School, and moved from Homsassa, FL to St. Mary’s County, MD in September, 2012. She worked as an Administrative Secretary for Prince George’s County Public Schools, and after 24 years retired in 2003. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church Leonardtown, MD with Father Brian Beaubien officiating. If she wasn’t on a cruise with her family or in the hospital, you could count on her inviting me over for tea or coffee and a chat about her family. We had many wonderful conversations even though we only knew her for a short time, Your loss is heaven’s gain. “

    “Angela and I worn born within 3 weeks of each other in West Pittston, Pa. We grew up together, played together, and had a wonderful mutual respect for each other. We will miss her very much. Angela showed us how to live and also how to die. During our last several visits in hospice, Angela provided comfort and solace to us. It is our privilege and honor to have known her for 73 years. Rest well, Dear Angela”
