A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 21, 2005 at 11:30 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation:
Viewing & Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2005 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 3:15 PM.
Anna Marie Long, 87, of Leonardtown, MD died November 18, 2005 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born May 27, 1918 in Bryantown, MD she was the daughter of the late Margaret Lucas and Louis Henry Cargill. She was preceded in death by her husband John Leonard Long. She was the loving mother of Margaret M. Nelson of Leonardtown, MD, James E. Long and Richard E. Long, both of Mechanicsville, MD, Ralph L. Long of Hollywood, MD, Lawrence S. Long of Worfordsburg, PA and Rose B. Balicheski of Solomons, MD. She is survived by 18 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 3 Great-great grandchildren. She was the sister of Joseph Cargill of Mechanicsville, MD Francis Cargill and Lucille Hill both of LaPlata, MD. She was preceded in death by her siblings George Cargill, Louis Cargill, Martha Alvey and Helen Alvey. Mrs. Long was a life long St. Mary's County resident and graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School in Bryantown, MD. The family received friends on Sunday, November 20, 2005 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, November 21, 2005 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas D. Nelson, Richard Long, William Long, Donald Long, Dale Long and Dennis Pope. Honorary Pallbearers were Ronald Nelson, Jeff Long, Scott Long, Neil Long, Robert Long and Edward S. Balicheski, Jr. Contributions may be made to the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
